marsha brown new hopeThere are some notable culinary gems in town and across the bridge in Lambertville that serve a wide range of food from tapas to classic Thai. The better restaurants tend to fill up quickly, especially on weekends, so make your reservations as early as possible. Reserve a table at one of the New Hope or Lambertville eateries along the Delaware River and enjoy a meal with a view.

Cafe Blue Moose
Address: 9 West Mechanic Street
Cuisine: European
Word of Mouth: "Upon entering, the atmosphere was fun and bright. The mismatched tableware and hand painted walls & furniture definitely added to the wonderful charm. We ordered the quiche, apple pancakes & Greek omelette. All were spectacular, the pancakes taking lead with their fluffiness & freshness. Our side pastries of homemade focaccia & blueberry muffins were an amazing addition to our already scrumptious meal. The bill was $42 for a party of 4 & we all walked out stuffed & completely satisfied. This is an unbelievable find! " -- taylormccomb

Sprig and Vine
Address: 450 Union Square Drive
Cuisine: Vegan
Word of Mouth: "The food is insanely good. I am not a vegan, but this restaurant really is the best I have ever been to and I recommend it for all. The dishes are truly inspired and you can tell the chef has spent serious time thinking about these dishes. It is not only combining unusual flavors, but also textures so the sensory experience is really at a high level. One dish I had was the soba noodles with picked veggies, chili-lime vinegar and roasted kale. Roasted kale was fine, crunchy, incredible topper to this dish. Would also recommend the panini, edamame-falafel wrap, and scallion-jasmine rice cakes with asparagus. Amazing as everything was cooked to perfection and the flavor explosion in your mouth -- just wow." -- renee6221

Honey
Address: 42 Shewell Avenue, Doylestown
Cuisine: Tapas, American
Word of Mouth: "Well known in Doylestown, this restaurant is wonderful for foodies. Combining unusual elements and flavors, the chef has created a menu unlike any you are likely to find in this area. This week's special included an amazing use of grits that confounded my view of that southern dish ... in a good way. Small plates to share make this an ideal place to go with your food loving friends." -- J M

Tastebuds
Address: 49 West Ferry Street
Cuisine: American
Word of Mouth: "They do a seasonal menu which changes every 3 months with a goal of using local, fresh ingredients. The blend of salt, savory and sweet flavors makes for some very inventive combinations. I've tried to copy some of the recipes but can't quite seem to get there. It's a BYO which is also a big plus. Their mussels are to die for. Not a place for young children but our girls (both in their 20's) LOVE coming here." -- Christine K

Marsha Brown
Address: 15 South Main Street
Cuisine: American, Cajun, Creole
Word of Mouth: "Marsha Brown is located in an old church in New Hope, stainglass windows and all. We sat in what used to be the choir loft in a table tucked into the corner. If you call for reservations I would recommend asking for a table somewhere upstairs -- to really get that 'I'm eating in church feel.' The high ceilings and decor really make this a unique place to dine." -- peeps225

El Tule Mexican and Peruvian Restaurant
Address: 49 North Main Street, Lambertville, NJ
Cuisine: Mexican, Peruvian
Word of Mouth: "I love this place! The food is really great and very different from the usual Latin offerings in this area. The waitstaff is very helpful at helping select the best dishes and sitting outside on the patio on a warm summer night is just really special!" -- Suzanne B

SIAM Thai Restaurant
Address: 61 North Main Street, Lambertville, NJ
Cuisine: Thai
Word of Mouth: "It is no joke. I grew up in the NYC metro area and Siam is my unqualified favorite restaurant of all time. I love everything about Siam. The atmosphere is very casual, so don't go expecting a fine dining experience. But the food is absolutely consistent and perfect every time and reasonably priced considering the food quality. I've been eating at this establishment for about 20 years now and it has not changed a bit. The staff treats you like old friends, and this restaurant is part of what makes Lambertville great." -- SHolzmer
