Napa Hotels and B&B's

napa valley wine country inn california vineyardAccommodations in the city of Napa include motels, chic bed and breakfasts in historic homes, upscale inns and full-service hotels. Many properties are centrally located, so you can walk just about everywhere. You will need a car to venture into the valley, where lodging includes a handful of moderate motels and an array of pricey golf or spa resorts. The choice of charming inns tucked away in vineyard settings increases each year, and nearly all include a bountiful breakfast in the rate.

Throughout the valley, it's common for inns also to offer complimentary tea and goodies or evening wine and cheese -- factors to consider when comparing prices. Advance reservations are essential for summer weekends and during the fall grape crush.

  BED AND BREAKFASTS
Old World Inn
Address: 1301 Jefferson Street
Rates: $109 - $395
Word of Mouth: "Our visit to Old World Inn was amazing! From the moment we walked in (and we were early), we were greeted with a smile, a fruit infused water, a full detail of the area, suggested places to dine, suggested wineries, coupons for wine tastings, coupons for tours, and a map to guide our travels. Our room exceeded expectations -- an extremely comfortable bed, gas fireplace, large flat screen TV, jetted tub, and lots of charm. The evening wine tastings (from a different winery every night) were such a terrific addition to the incredible breakfast and evening treats. The innkeeper even went out of her way to make a non-chocolate dessert every evening since I am allergic to chocolate." -- BedandBreakfast.com contributor

The Inn on First
Address: 1938 First Street
Rates: $185 - $385
Word of Mouth: "The house is beautiful from the moment you walk in. There is a nice sitting room with complimentary port and snacks with a super cozy fireplace. Made us feel welcome from the moemnt we got there. Our room was nice and secluded. Even though the Inn was fully booked while we were there we felt very alone in our room which was great." -- BedandBreakfast.com contributor

Wine Country Inn
Address: 1152 Lodi Lane, Saint Helena
Rates: $225 - $695
Word of Mouth: "We have stayed here approximately 5 times over the past year. It's amazing how many repeat customers that there are. The rooms are well worth the price; the setting is serene. Breakfast and the wine hour w/ appetizers in the evening is a nice addition. In addition to the customer service, the fact that they drive you to/from dinner is exceptional. We only live 30 miles away, but love to come up here for a wine country weekend regularly." -- BedandBreakfast.com contributor

Beazley House
Address: 1910 First Street
Rates: $150 - $340
Word of Mouth: "My wife and I have been visiting the Beazley House since David Letterman was on afternoon television. We love the off-season: light jackets, clear skies, NO CROWDS! The Beazley House is our home away from home. Jim and Carol are the ultimate hosts with the ultimate property. Beautiful, spacious rooms in the mansion and carriage house, wonderful breakfasts where everybody interacts, and the best local 'guides' in the business. Jim and Carol will help you plan your day, and your visit will be perfect." -- BedandBreakfast.com contributor

Chablis Inn
Address: 3360 Solano Avenue
Average Rate: $89 - $153
Word of Mouth: "If you are just looking for a clean good value hotel while in the Napa region, this is the place. It has a refrigerator and was clean. We didn't use our room for anything but sleeping so it was just the ticket. Great location just off the freeway." -- danlmart

River Terrace Inn
Address: 1600 Soscol Avenue
Average Rate: $177 - $345
Word of Mouth: "Nice, quiet hotel. Very relaxing. The bed and pillows were so comfortable that we took pictures of the mattress and pillows to get them at home. The only downside was there is no room service and the 'hotel restaurant' is off site and a little high end for our taste. It was within walking distance to the Oxbow Market and downtown so we didn't have to drive a lot once we were there, which made wine tastings more convenient." -- Jonell G

Inn at Sonoma
Address: 630 Broadway, Sonoma
Average Rate: $177 - $259
Word of Mouth: "We stayed here for two days visiting Sonoma & Napa. It was quaint, clean, quiet with a fireplace in our room & view of the mountains. The bed was the most comfortable bed EVER! There was a wonderful breakfast & also afternoon happy hour with great wine, vegetables, cheese, and homemade pastries. EXCELLENT INN! Also -- it was a short walk to the town with cute shops & good restaurants." -- Sue0419

Wine Valley Lodge
Address: 200 South Coombs
Average Rate: $80 - $158
Word of Mouth: "This was one of the least expensive options in Napa and I was on a budget. I hoped for a neat and clean room, that's exactly what I got! The room isn't fancy, but it's neat and clean. The bathroom was sparkling. They do provide soap, shampoo and lotion which were of decent quality. There is a TV in the room with limited channels, but hey, you're in wine country! You're not supposed to be watching TV! I'd stay here again." -- WhereIntheWorldisJen
