Indian Springs, Florida

Indian Springs Fl. is a strip of beach, restaurants and homes between Clearwater and St. Pete's Beach.

The closest airport is Tampa-St. Petersburg. The airport itself is clean, bright and easy to maneuver. There are a number of restaurants and business establishments as well as a salon within the airport. My favorite place to eat is the airport Marriott which is a short walk through a brightly lit passageway. Gates are accessed by high-speed trams. Rental cars are available at the airport proper rather than off site.

The drive to Indian Shores takes about 40 minutes. The area is on Tampa Bay and has low dunes and mild waves with turquoise waters and many sea birds. Indian Shores has free beach access. Parking is available across from the ocean in metered lots with clean restrooms.

A convenient and inexpensive resource is the Indian Rock's library located at the town center on Gulf Boulevard. There we were able to access the internet for a $5. year long membership.

Nearby is John's Pass which is a tourist spot for souvenir shopping, boat trips and casual dining or snacking. There are opportunities for fishing and gambling on a casino cruise which leaves from Madeira each day. We particularly enjoyed Thai-Am, a Thai/Japanese restaurant with reasonably priced, delicious food and sushi adjacent to John's Pass.

Two other nearby, reasonably priced restaurants are Guppys and Crabby Bills. At Crabby Bills a dozen oysters on the half-shell are offered for under $5.

We vacationed in May when there was little traffic or crowds. The week we spent was relaxing and rejuvenating and helped prepare us for the coming summer months in the northeast.
