Thoughts... the only place we paid admission was Old Saint Mary's... All the museums and attractions we visited in D.C. were free... We could have spent much more time exploring Washington, much less the nearby sites like Mt Vernon, the various Civil War battlefields and such. The D.C. metro system is great. You don't want to drive into the city...
