Back to the 70's --Hotel KundaliniAuthor: Patsy Smith (More Trip Reviews by Patsy Smith)

This beach town was a trip down memory lane...surfers, "hippie-style" clothes and people of all ages not worried about the time of day or tomorrow's work. Many people carry tents or sleeping bags and camp out on the beach at night.
A tropical-styled village has restaurants, massage parlors, street vendors and of course, surfboard rentals and instructions. The instructors will have you out into the water to catch your first wave in no time at all.
The Hotel Kundalini, where I stayed, sits right on the beach. I had a porch with a hammock and an amazing view. Equipped with wy-fy, it was a perfect choice. Clean and neat, friendly owners and just $20 per night. I sipped on my coffee each morning while watching the surfers ride the waves. I walked into the village each day to eat lunch at one of the many outdoor restaurants, filled with delicious fish dishes or made to order meals.
Street vendors sell everything from food, drinks, clothes and sandals to incense, surfboards and tanning oil. The atmosphere was great! Totem poles around the village added to that tropical island feel. I never felt out of place. People of all ages were on the streets and everyone was ready to chat or greet their fellow travelers.
