The east coast of Australia is home to some of the country's most popular destinations, including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Cairns -- and you can visit all of them with the purchase of the East Coast Discovery Pass. This rail pass allows for unlimited train travel aboard the CountryLink and Queensland Rail Travel services in a single direction (either north to south or vice versa) over a period of six months. The pass costs anywhere from $123 to $425, depending on which cities you choose as your starting and ending points.

  • Further Restrictions: The East Coast Discovery Pass is only available to non-Australian passport holders. Seat reservations must be made in advance, as the pass itself does not guarantee a seat. A reservation for each individual sector of travel is necessary to obtain a valid travel ticket. Upgrades to first class, business class or Red Premium Service seats and sleeping berths are permitted with payment of the applicable upgrade amount. Offer is not available for travel on Melbourne Met, Sydney CityRail or Queensland CityTrain services except where stated. Travel on Sydney's CityRail services is only permitted when traveling to a station to connect with a CountryLink service. Tilt Train upgrade may only be booked within seven days of departure and is subject to availability. Offfer is subject to availability and may be changed or withdrawn at any time without notice.
