We believe that planning your trip is half the fun of being a traveler. While it's our goal to point you in the right direction to help get you started, there are many great travel sites on the Internet that we, as travelers, find invaluable in planning our own trips.
Here are some of our favorite sites, which we hope you will visit and find useful as well.
Destination Information
AOL Travel: AOL Travel is a full-service travel resource, offering deals, user reviews, articles and a comprehensive set of Travel Guides for destinations around the world.
Frommers: We love Frommer's guidebooks, and now they're available online. Look up Frommer's hotel and restaurant recommendations and check out the candid, timely feature articles.
Lonely Planet: Lonely Planet Guidebooks have long been a favorite, and have been the one guidebook we would take on any Asian travels. Lonely Planet's Web site doesn't disappoint, bringing dispatches from the road from inveterate international travelers.
Rick Steves' Europe: For 30 years Rick Steves has been the guru for teaching Americans how to travel Europe like the locals. We love his folksy style, off-the-beaten-path suggestions and favorite itineraries.
Cruises
Cruise Critic: We are a bit biased, as Cruise Critic is our sister site. However, if you are planning a cruise, this is the one site you must visit! There you'll find cruise reviews, news, ports of call information and a vibrant cruise community for first-hand advice before you cruise.
Living, Working and Studying Abroad
Transitions Abroad: Thinking about living abroad for an extended period of time and working or studying? Transitions Abroad is the central clearing house for essential information you'll want to know.
Accommodations
BedandBreakfast.com: The most comprehensive source of bed and breakfast information online. Includes detailed searchable listings, directions, resources and deals.
