The Pacific Northwest is home to Washington and Oregon, and both states have a lot to offer. Seattle, known as the Emerald City due to its numerous evergreens, is home to Gasworks Park, the Experience Music Project, Pioneer Square and, of course, the Space Needle, which offers brilliant 360-degree views of the city. Get out of town and visit Mount Rainier, an active volcano in the Cascade Mountains. In Oregon, make your first stop the laid-back city of Portland, with its colorful gardens and 30+ breweries. Make time for a side trip to Mount Hood and the Columbia River Gorge.
