Castello di Monterone
Perugia Italy 06126
The solid fortifications that once served to defend this restored military castle now make it a bulwark against strain and stress. Sunlight floods into the rooms, except in La Segreta, an interior space discovered during reconstruction that has just one slit of a window. Hundreds of rose plants line the pebbled walkway of the gardens. The castle sits in a valley a couple of miles from Perugia. For guests hiking to the city and back, the castle's clear blue pool is a welcome sight.
