Lapa Rios Ecolodge

Osa Peninsula
Costa Rica

Lapa Rios employs the technique of the local Boruca people to weave the palm roofs of its rain forest bungalows. The stone-set floors of the new bathrooms and warm wood of the rooms themselves provide comfort from above and below. Instead of employing a chef, the Lapa Rios has trained locals to cook and bake; interestingly, this has overturned cultural stereotypes that deem kitchen work as specific to women. Special packages include family vacations and girlfriend getaways.
