The Museum Hotel isn't just a boutique hotel -- it's also a gallery of contemporary art. You can find paintings and sculptures on display in the restaurant and various public areas. The entire hotel building was relocated via railway tracks back in the 1990's (it would've otherwise faced demolition to make way for the new Te Papa museum). It's now conveniently located just across the street from the museum.
