Grab your suit and sunscreen and head for a paradise like no other. The Caribbean is a popular hot spot for honeymooners, families and singletons alike. Whether you dream of relaxing on the sandy white beaches of Aruba or swimming with dolphins in Curacao, we've got 10 tropical attractions you won't want to miss.
1. The Bahamas
If you are planning a Caribbean vacation and don't know where to start, consider the islands of the Bahamas. Nassau and Paradise Island are two popular Bahaman destinations connected by bridges. Visit for duty-free shopping, pristine beaches and water sports galore.
3. St. Martin/St. Maarten
This dually owned island is a combination of vibrant villages and tranquil beaches. Be sure to visit St. Maarten on the Dutch side, and St. Martin on the French side. Water lovers will want to snorkel in Shipwreck Cove.
4. St. Lucia
Be sure to take along a camera when you visit St. Lucia's Sulfur Springs, the world's only "drive (or walk)-in" volcano. Don't worry about taking an in-depth tour of the bubbly springs -- the volcano is now dormant.
5. Martinique
Rent a car and drive to Martinique's Macouba, a fishing village on the island's north end with awesome views of nearby Dominica, sea, and mountains. While in Martinique, we also recommend visiting The Galleria, the Caribbean's largest shopping mall.
6. Turks & Caicos
Surrounded by one of the largest coral reef systems on the planet, the Turks & Caicos Islands are great for beginner divers, or those who just want to spot a few humpback whales.
7. Grand Cayman
Tucked inside a natural channel, Grand Cayman's Stingray City is home to one of the world's best 12-foot dives. If you decide to snorkel with the stingrays, ask your guide for some cut up squid or fish at feeding time -- they're actually quite gentle.
8. Barbados
While in Barbados, ride the electric tram through Harrison's Cave, where you can see stalactites, waterfalls and emerald pools seven days a week. Advance reservations are recommended.
9. Curacao
If you're a marine biology buff, Curacao is the place for you. Save up your pennies and book a swim with the dolphins at the Dolphin Academy. Also not to be missed: Curacao Aquarium.
10. Progreso Pier Progreso Pier is becoming an increasingly popular Caribbean destination, and is touted as the longest pier in the world. The outlaying town has a fairly extensive crafts market, beachfront eateries and a nice small-town beach.
