Located in the Venetian Lagoon, Burano and its vibrant, oh-so-photogenic buildings are just a 40-minute vaporetto trip from Venice. Also spelled Cusco, this former Incan capital in the Andes Mountains is the most common starting point for travelers hiking the Inca Trail — or taking the train — to Machu Picchu.
